Software Portfolio

Open Source Projects:

  • Grasshopper – Grasshopper is an SNMP statistics gathering and analysis tool, similar to MRTG, Cacti and Cricket. Grasshopper is an attempt to combine the best user interface features of each (and some new ones!) with a new multi-threaded polling engine that was written from scratch in Perl to be extremely fast. Evan Salazar and I initially developed Grasshopper at New Mexico State University for the department of Information and Communications Technology (ICT)See it in action here! [Edit: NMSU Grasshopper data isn't public anymore :( ]
  • Educational Simulations – A collection of web-based educational simulations I’m helping to develop as part of my work as an NSF GK12 Fellow at New Mexico State University. These apps are primarily targeted at students in grades 6-8 and are aligned with New Mexico educational standards and goals. The Google Code page will also contain other resources for teacher professional development and computational learning modules for students in grades 9-12 in the future.
  • MVCimple – A bare-bones Model-View-Controller framework for Perl. Sort of like Grails, but much simpler and Perl-based. MVCimple also came out of my work at NMSU ICT.
  • Wireless Sensor Networks – A collection of work related to my Master’s research on energy harvesting in Wireless Sensor Networks. I thought I’d try something new and host this one on Gitorious.
